2007 is Andrea’s second year as an Artemis member, but her second year of competitive riding. She is a former track and field athlete who has also participated in local short distance running events. An impulsive decision to ride from North Carolina to Washington DC to support an AIDS charity event introduced Andrea to cycling. Her accomplishments in the first year of racing included winning a medal at the age-graded Time Trial championship and one top 10 finish in a criterium.
Professionally, Andrea is a school and developmental Psychologist working in a local school district. She is also adjunct professor of psychology at Northern Virginia Community college. She hails from Jamaica, WI and is the mother of an adult son, as well as Dusty, the Bichon Frise who is also a member of her family.
