I started road biking while living in Japan.  Initially I did local club rides and then branched into longer distances and touring.  After cycling most of the coastline and length of Japan, I decided to try racing.  I did well in local races and was recruited by a national women’s semi-pro cycling team, Asahi Muur Zero.  I raced with Asahi Muur Zero for about three years on the national and international level.  We did single-day as well as multi-day stage races in Japan, China, Thailand and the US.  I retired from the team in mid-2016, and when I moved back to the US at the end of 2016 I joined Artemis.
